The hubby and I got to get away for a night last week, to see Walk Off The Earth in Seattle, with some friends. Then we went to see Philip Defranco Live a few nights later. It was a super fun week and now that it's over things around our household have gone back to normal. We get up, eat breakfast, and go forth with our day. Maybe go to the park. To a friends house. Or if it's particularly gloomy outside, have a movie day in our pjs. Contentedly Ordinary. Maybe a little boring, but I feel like January - March are the boring months. I don't mind boring too much, though, because it also probably means we're healthy, we're eating 3 square-ish meals a day, and then some.
Until just recently, it was mostly just me and the boys, doing our thing. We'd have our friend miss Hannah over once a week, and sometimes our friends Nya and Koen. But this week we added little Emma to the mix, for daycare. So that's exciting! She has acclimated to our schedule nicely, and I look forward to nicer weather to run the three kids about.
Thomas is really enjoying practicing writing his letters, learning numbers and playing his bible game on my tablet. He eats like a teenager, unless dinner is anything in the vein of mexican food. He still goes to speech therapy once a week, and is really making strides. We're just working on general vocab and clarity now. Yay! He is looking forward to going to preschool this fall.
Elliott is opinionated as always. He doesn't want to watch anything but Thomas the Train on tv. He eats really good one day, but if given the same options the next day, they will have suddenly become very undesirable. Or if given new options, he'll say he wants what he had yesterday. He's very affectionate, hugging and kissing all the time. He loves to read, but again, only Thomas the Train. He's gifted in the "two year old tantrum". Numbers and letters are something he wants to learn, but he is determined to give them his own names. His vocabulary is right on par for his age.
Me? Oh, I've just decided to add a bunch of "to do's" to my list, and it's a little overwhelming, if only because I want to do it all at once. I want to learn to sew. Learn Spanish. Re-learn French. Make soap. Be better at incorporating a preschool like lesson into our daily routine. Better work on this one and a time. ;)
